Nestled into the Cornish countryside Fistral Retreat is located in Rosecliston, just a stone’s throw from some of the most famous and stunning beaches in Britain.

Rooftop Solar

700 rooftop solar PV panels are connected directly to the Fistral Retreat SNRG SmartGrid. These panels will be funded, installed, and maintained by SNRG.

When all 700 solar panels are installed, it is estimated that they will generate 300,000kWh of renewable energy annually and through the SNRG SmartGrid, meet an estimated 40% of the Fistral Retreats residents' demand with local, low-cost, low-carbon solar power.

Communal Storage

SNRG will fund, install, and maintain a large, communal battery on the Fistral Retreat SNRG SmartGrid. This will be used to store excess rooftop solar PV and also store low-cost, low- carbon grid electricity bought at night.

We estimate that the rooftop solar PV panels and the purchasing of low-carbon grid electricity will avoid 34Ct pa in the first year of operating the Fistral Retreat SNRG SmartGrid alone.

While we will strive to maximise your electricity bill savings we will always provide a minimum 15% discount to the Ofgem Default Tariff Cap.

In the UK, household electricity consumption often peaks at times that don’t coincide with sunlight hours – like turning on the kettle for your morning or evening cuppa. This misalignment means that the average UK home with 10 solar panels will use less than half of the solar power produced. The surplus? It’s exported back to the grid for far less than it costs to buy electricity from the grid! We believe this is not only unfair but a waste of low-cost, low-carbon electricity.

Rooftop solar PV is connected directly to the SNRG SmartGrid, which means your home can access the power from the 700 solar panels plus the large communal battery storage system on the Fistral Retreat SNRG SmartGrid. The SNRG SmartGrid ensures that you will only ever pay for the electricity your home uses, while the communal-wide network minimises the wasteful export of low-cost, low-carbon solar power back to the grid while equally maximising the benefits and savings for all homes on the SNRG SmartGrid.

As your electricity supplier, SNRG supplies your home with low-cost, low-carbon electricity from the SNRG SmartGrid. When there isn’t enough solar energy or battery energy we supply certified low carbon electricity from the grid.

As with any electricity supplier, SNRG sends you monthly bills, and provides access to the SNRG Connect app as well as our customer service team.

Solar PV and battery storage

Funded, maintained and operated by SNRG

SNRG has funded the SmartGrid at Fistral Retreat which includes:

→ The Rooftop solar PV
→ The communal battery
→ The energy metering hardware and software

SNRG will also maintain and operate all of the above. This means you don’t have to worry about cleaning the solar panels on your roof or optimising the battery. That’s SNRG’s job.
