The copious benefits of powering large developments via SNRG SmartGrids came to the fore once again at UKREiiF – the UK’s premier real estate and infrastructure event.
Official figures released by the organisers showed that more than 24,000 people visited the New Dock Hall foyer each day at the Leeds city centre venue.
That’s where SNRG was prominently placed – our smartly-designed stand, set out with an internal meeting space to host a number of extremely informative sessions, where expertise was shared and new relationships developed.

Meeting visitors to the stand was SNRG UK Ambassador Ian Taylor – keenly spotted by the occasional football fan, aware of Ian’s legendary status as Aston Villa striker.
Ian says: “From SNRG’s point of view, I think it was the best UKREiiF yet. Our stand received no end of good comments and meetings were plenty, in a great space.
“The interest in SmartGrids and all that we offer is growing and growing, and our network getting bigger and bigger.
“We had plenty of enquiries from people wanting to know more – all in all, it was a great few days.”

SNRG played host to six sessions attended by very interested parties from across sectors, and across the UK.
SmartGrids for Volume Housebuilders welcomed guest speaker Kelly Hillman, Group Director – Public Land and Places, at Vistry Group.
SmartGrids for University, Science & Business Campuses featured guest speaker James Eadie, Infrastructure Manager – Development & Construction, at Harwell.
James returned, alongside fellow guest speaker Richard Hepworth, New Sites Director, Urban&Civic, for a collaborative workshop where developers, occupiers and asset owners came together to help design a commercially viable SmartGrid solution for multi-building industrial and logistics sites.
On day two, our SmartGrids for Garden Communities session featured Cllr Jim Martin, of Folkestone & Hythe District Council, sharing lessons from Otterpool Park, a new town in the making.
SmartGrids for Affordable Housing Providers welcomed guest speaker Richard Young, Technical Director of Sovereign Network Group (SNG).
Finally, Helena Rivers, Energy Transition Lead at Aecom, led an interesting, informative session on SmartGrids + Heat Networks – A Blueprint for Future Homes Development.

Congratulations, also, to the organisers, for being ISO 20121 Sustainable Events Management accredited for a fourth year in a row – demonstrating a strong commitment to sustainability by exceeding the standard’s requirements.
